How do I update information on my account?

Once you are logged-in, click on Edit, and click on Profile.  After updates are made, scroll down and click on the Save button at the bottom of the page.

Which internet browser is best to use for courses on Partnership University?

Mozilla Firefox has proven to be the best internet browser to view the courses.  If you are having problems viewing a page, try viewing in Firefox to see if that corrects the problem.

What do I need to do in order to receive a certificate for a course?

You must fulfill the following requirements in order to earn your certificate of completion:

  • You must view every page in the course
  • You must post to the community forum - at least two posts are required for the Professional courses, and at least one post for the Para-Professional forum.
  • You must take all the quizzes in the Professional Courses.
  • You must take the final exam for the Professional courses and also the Para-professional courses.

When will I receive my certificate?

You will receive your certificate automatically as soon as you have met all the requirements of the course.  Click on the link "View Details" for the completed course.  If you have completed all the requirements above, you will see a link to download the certificate.

How do I create an account and request course(s)?

Click on "create a new account" in the upper right hand side of the home page.  From there you will have a form to enter in your personal information and a list of courses to request.  After you have submitted your user information and course request, you will receive a message that your account is pending approval.  If payment is required, you will receive an email stating how to pay for the course(s).  If payment is not required, your request will be processed.  Please note that it can take up to 2 business days to have email notification and/or account activation.

Once my account has been approved, how do I start taking my courses?

Log-in with your user name and password, click on the "GO TO: My Account/Courses" link in the upper right hand box.  You will see the list of all the courses that have been approved.  Just click on the course name and you can start the course.

How do I request additional courses?

Click on the "GO TO: My Account/Courses" link in the upper right hand box to go to your dashboard.  Click on the link Click here to view a list of available courses and request additional courses.

 

What is the glossary and how does it work?

Throughout the courses you will see that some key words are underlined.  These words are defined in the glossary.  By clicking on the word, you will see the definition.  You may also access the complete glossary via a link at the top right of your screen.  Viewing the glossary definitions is not a course requirement, is is merely an aid.

What is the community forum and how does it work?

Throughout the courses there are places where you will be asked questions and prompted to post your ideas in the community forum. You must make a specific number of posts per course, the specific number will be on the first page of every course, in order to earn your certificate. You can also access the community forum via a link at the bottom of each page.

How can I check my course status?

You can check your course status by clicking on "View Details" link for the specific course.  That will show you your progress with the course, see which course requirements you have fulfilled and which you have yet to complete.

How many attempts do I get to pass the quiz at the end of each unit?

You have two chances to take quizzes and tests.  After the first attempt you will be given a choice to continue to other courses or retake the quiz/test.  You can also go back through the course to review the material in the quiz and final exams.

What is the difference between the quizzes and the final exam?

Quizzes are located at the end of each unit in the Professional courses and can sometimes contain the same questions in the original quiz as the makeup quiz.  The Final Exam is at the end of the course (both Professional and Para-Professional).  It covers the entire course.

What is included on the certificates?

For the Para-Professional courses: The certficiates include the user name, the name of the course, a brief course description of the course, approximate training hour(s) for the course, best score of the Final Exam, and the date of course completion.

For the Professional courses: The certificates include the user name, the name of the course, the average quiz score (the best score for each quiz is used for average), the best score of the final exam, and the date of course completion.

Do I have to complete the course within an alloted amount of time?

No, you do not have to complete the course within a specific amount of time.  You can start the course in one sitting and then come back at a later date and click on "resume progress" to start where you left off.  You will receive the certificate for the course when all the requirements have been met.

I'm having a problem printing a PDF document

Sometimes the pdf documents will print out strangely.  There will be a lot of scribbles on the page.  This can happen after updates to Adobe Reader.  To change this, you need to click on "Advanced" button in the printing dialog box.  Then select the "Print as image" box.  This should correct this problem.  Click here to see example of printer dialog box.
